AHPC is sorry to report the untimely passing of Pete Martin. An architect, he joined MKDC in the 1970s and was responsible for a number of housing schemes throughout the City in Great Linford, Downhead Park, Giffard Park and Great Holm amongst others. His most notable single building was the shop in Two Mile Ash with its joyful wooden sun in the gable ends, which Pete made himself and handed to the builders.
In recent years he has been a particular enthusiast for the heritage of Milton Keynes, acting as a guide for both the City Discovery Centre and MK Gallery.
His death was unexpected
He was a true friend of the City and his funeral will take place in the Oak Chapel at Crownhill Crematorium on Thursday 29 May (11.30) and afterwards at the Cruck Barn, Bradwell Abbey. If you are planning to attend, please will you contact Pete's daughter Kate (kate@katemartin.me.uk ) so that they can accommodate the numbers.
